Water issues

Three of the seven water companies that imposed Temporary Use Bans (hosepipe bans) on 5th April - Thames Water, Anglian Water and Southern Water - lifted their bans on Thursday 14th June.

The four remaining companies with restrictions in place – Sutton & East Surrey, South East Water, Veolia South East and Veolia Central – have since reported a significant improvement in groundwater supplies, allowing them to lift their usage bans on Monday 9th July.

The water companies have agreed Codes of Practice with the Turfgrass Growers Association, the Horticultural Trades Association (HTA), the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) and other landscape trade bodies to ensure that the minimum amount of water is used, and as wisely as possible.

Please read, share and pass on the Code of Practice to your colleagues and customers.
